Not getting into bios.

Please help. Helping a friend with his first build.

System boots and goes to Splash screen. When I hit delete to enter the bios it just gives me a black screen.

Mobo : a88xm - e45

APU : a6 6400k

RAM : transcend 4gb 1600mh. Had to take this from different pc.

HDD : toshiba 500gb.

Vga. The screen. Does work on another pc.

I cleared the CMOs last night.

Was able to put the OS on but still can't get into bios. But I think there are ways of entering the bios via a program on the mobo driver disk.

But he has it now and it works at least.

The CEOs did help to bring the splash screen but nothing more.

Sounds like your keyboard isn't working until you boot up.  Make sure that it is on and plugged directly into the mob via USB cable and not into a PCI expansion card.

swap out the keyboard for another keyboard

 

also make sure you use only USB 2.0 ports
