Overclocked my 970 with afterburner.  I got 1500mhz stable from testing in furmark.  WHen i run furmark it goes to 1500mhz, but when i play a less demanding game like Smite, a dx9 game, it stays at 1113.  What do????

I can help with programming and hardware.

Because the GPU doesn't need to clock up. Happens to me in NFS Most Wanted(original) and Battlefront II.

It won't run at a higher speed if it doesn't need to. Also Vsync can do the same thing

furmark will stress the GPU cores to the max and could kill the GPU

under normal usage it will only go like 80-90%

if you want to make sure it run the highest

set the power limit to +20%
