I am new to the pc world and I am going to build a decent 700-800$ gaming pc. I was wondering if I should get an i5 4690k or an amd fx 8350. The rest will have 8 gb ram a 970 and a mob comparable with the rest. I plan on getting custom cooling and overclocking a little. Can anyone give some tips on the setup and i5 or 8350. THANKS!

4690k..if you can fit it in that budget

but with a 970

it might not work

you probably gonna have to go with a 4460..tho its not much slower then the 4690

If you need remote help fixing something on your computer

I can help over Teamviewer if you wish

just msg me on my profile

Get a good cpu even if it costs a little more neve ever cut out on cpu or mobos you are seriously going to regret getting low cost cpu or mobos also get i5 its the best for games atm also overclocking 4960k is not that hard you can even do it on stock cooling (not recommended) but since you are going for custom cooling you are fine question is liquid or air cooled??? if you are a beginner i would say go whit air cooling for now and when you get familiar whit computers get liquid as liquid cooling takes mainteanance while air cooling just means you open up the sidepanel once evry month and clean the dust
