I've been looking around online but am still confused. I currently have a Blue snowball but am unsure if it's the most proper mic to use, as I've seen shotgun mics used quite a bit in voice. A shockmount recommendation for any mics suggested is appritiated. If the snowball is enough could I be directed to better audio quality?

Just by listening to reviews on YouTube on Bluebsnowball vs Blue Yeti the Yeti has more "radio" like sound and overall sound quality is a level higher IMHO. That's all I have to say, haven't used any standalone mic myself so can't give any advice other than I prefer to listen to Blue Yeti :)
