  1. Get Windows Student for 69$. http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msusa/en_US/pdp/Windows-8.1-Pro-for-Students/productID.288769600

  2. Change the HD to this. Cheaper, higher capacity, and one of the most reliable HDs out there.

Raijintek Triton as the CPU cooler. Link here: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA66Z29F0448&cm_re=raijintek_triton-_-9SIA66Z29F0448-_-Product

Is the student version of windows any different?

Don't people say to stick to WD drives?

How much better temps does that cooler give?

  1. Not really. The only "drawback" is that it requires verification that you are, in fact, a student. Take a peek at how to do it. For me, all I had to do was provide the email my University gave me; BAM, verification done in 1min, purchase finished on the next.
  2. Are you sure? http://www.extremetech.com/extreme/175089-who-makes-the-most-reliable-hard-drives
  3. About 1~2, maybe even 3 degrees. But that's not the point of the cooler. The selling point is the clear tubing, so you can see you (insert random color name) water. Not only that, the cooler can be disassembled and re-used in a future watercooling loop. Way to go for upgradability!
