Hi,

I'm building a budget PC. I would love to hear your opinions!

Here's the current build: http://www.amazon.it/registry/wishlist/26IH8ZLAKOUXA. I live in Italy, so please keep in mind that not every piece of hardware is available.

Some extra info:

I already own an SSD.

I'll use the computer for gaming and sometimes for work (that's why I choose a quite powerful CPU).

I need a GPU with a mini display port, since I already have a monitor with that input (an Apple Cinema LED Display... don't judge me).

What do you guys think?

Thanks for your time!

Hi! Welcome to the forums!

Can you answer these questions? It'll help me help you :P

  1. First of all, what games are you gonna be playing?
  2. Will you be overclocking?
  3. Is silence important for you?

Basic guide to CPU's!

If I said I were 14, you would call me a kid. If I say 70, you’ll entitle me too old. If I say 20 you say I’m inexperienced and if I say 40 than I'm too boring.

Hi, thanks!

1) Starcraft 2 mostly, but I would love a setup that can play smoothly any game at 1920x1200 (I don't mind turning down a bit the grapich settings)

2) If necessary, but I would prefer not to

3) Not at all

You can directly use Apple's standalone monitor with non-apple device?

Just wondering, I just assumed this won't be possible without any mod or some other cable/device in between

I guess I'm gonna find out xD

Jokes aside, I haven't tested yet, but I'm quite sure that the monitor uses a standard mini display port.

I think maybe checking ebay is a good idea unless you want the warranty that comes with new parts used parts can be very cost effective

Italy is a magic place: new things on ebay cost more than on Amazon... And the availability is pretty much the same.

Beside that, I simply love Amazon, and it's customer service (just the other week for work we ordered a wrong CPU cooler, and Amazon refounded us completely).

Furthermore, I had quite a few cases of bad sellers on Ebay (€1000 RAMS packed in a cheap envelope for example).
