So to start off I wasn't sure where to post this thread since it concerns both CPUs and GPUs.

So I was wondering what would give more performance for rendering

i5 4690k and 2 970s

i7 4790k and 1 970

I know the i7 is better than the i5 for it but I didn't know if the extra GPU would make the i5 perform better than the i7 for rendering.

Rendering videos in Sony Vegas Pro 12 but hopefully going to upgrade to 13 soon. Some streaming games on Twitch. So a lot of gaming but I will be recording and then rendering those videos so I want to know if the extra GPU would make it better than the i7 which is better than the i5 for rendering.

Titan X gpu if you can

This isn't helpful to this at all...besides I would never have enough money and then go waste it on a Titan to run 2 1080p monitors...

Titan X gpu if you can

but more cores for rendering

so the i7 prob

if not go with xeon if don't plan on gaming (much)

the i7 and i5 both have 4 cores??? And I want the ability to OC so I don't want the Xeon. Maybe if it comes down to it for the price of the build but at the moment no.

I edited it in and it will have 16 GB of RAM in the system.

Xeon E3 1231v3 most likely, and either 2 way 970 if you can squeeze it in, or i7 and 1 970 with an SLI ready mobo so you can add another 970 later.

Again at the moment not looking at the Xeon, I know the performance of the i7 but locked and at the speed of the i5. I want to know if the extra GPU with the i5 will do better than the i7 with 1 GPU. But I am liking the idea of 1 970 now and then SLI another one later.
