3DMark Demo Launcher HW Accel

Is there a way to disable gpu acceleration for the 3DMark Launcher? Every time I try and run a benchmark, my 7950 only clocks up to 850. As soon as I close the launcher, I'm able to hit 1000mhz again. It's sorta making a comparison impossible.
