Would it be a good idea to run my new Samsung 840 EVO 120gb and 250 EVO 250gb together in RAID?

Im already aware of the chance of data loss, so yea.

Would this be a good idea for a boot drive to run them in Raid 0?

Id like to be able to use all of the storage available

You could probably do software raid, partition the 250gb into a 120gb partition raid that with the 120gb and use the rest of the 250gb one for random stuff

You can raid smaller and bigger drives together?

 

I wouldn't. Boot off the 250 EVO and use the 240 EVO for something else until it dies - maybe a game drive or for pagefile. Or to cache a RAMDISK.

Good idea - no.

Can you use all of the storage - no. You'll be stuck at 120gb.
