i just built my first pc and had no problem booting into bios and oc'ing but as soon as i got into windows blsck bars appeared around the image, even though windows says its running at 1080p. also windows doesnt apper to pick up my hdd as a storage device even though the bios does (i am also running an ssd). any help?

as for the black bars, i'm not really sure, but if you buy a fresh HDD, it'll need formatting, i hope an english member of the community can help you with the name of the program, as my windows is in dutch...

does this only apply to hdd? because my ssd with windows on it works just fine

your SSD was formatted when you installed windows on it. formatting extra storage devices in a system is often left out installing guides, and as far as i know the windows installer doesnt do it right either way.

 

EDIT: thats why i install windows with only the primary storage device in my system, and then take care of the rest using a linux disk.
