Changing Windows 8 version without re-installing?

Go to solution Solved by NumLock21,

yeah it's called "Add Features to Windows 8" instead of what win 7 had. The keys doesn't seem to work though on that. It's a copy from a school, if that matters.

You have Win8.1 Core N, to upgrade without having to reinstall, your new OS must be Win 8.1 Pro N. But since you got the standard Win8.1 Pro non N, then you will have to do a clean install.

Hi.

I installed Windows 8.1 Standard N to my computer a while ago, thinking that I would buy the key for it from Reddit later on. Now I got a key for a Windows 8.1 Pro non-N and can't use it to activate my version.

Can I "update" my Windows without re-installing it with the key?

Thanks a lot
