So in the corner of my room i use to have my tv (before i got 3 moniters) and the tv would suddenly flicker. we thought the issue was the hdmi switch however after removing it and just using a direct hdmi link it would still do it anyway eventually we realised when the bathroom light was turned on the screen would reconnect, i though it was a issue with the tv so i put one of my moniters there and it still does it turns out it does it with every screen i put their. to sum up when the bathroom light is turned on the screen will go off and come back on.

any ideas what this is ?

I'd have an electrician look at it, certainly not a hardware issue. Potentially some form of surging between that mains plug and the bathroom light. Very odd indeed.

Maybe this socket is being fed from the circuit which supplies the bathroom light, if the wiring being used is unable to flow enough current then that could cause the screen to lose power, it could also be pretty dangerous so I would get it checked.

the screen does not loose power thow it simply flashes

is the light in the bathroom a fluorescent type of bulb? as they use more current on start-up which may just starve your screen for a split second, or you could have a dodgy connection which is causing electromagnetic interference on the circuit which is causing your issue. Have you tried running an extension lead to the screen to see if is the mains circuit or the screens location causing the problem?

e2a this screen is on the same circuit as everything else on your pc?

everything is plugged into a surge tower which goes into the wall (i am in the uk and our plugs are 230v not 110v like the us this makes our plugs extreemely lethal) if that makes any diffrence

have you tried switching the socket on your graphics card between your screens?

it used to do it when the xbox was plugged into that screen, it seems to be that specific part of the room would a picture of the plugs and screen help ?

I am in the Uk so I know the style of plugs and things but I don't think that is your problem. There must be something but it is a very odd problem to have. How localised is it? (how far can you move the screen before the problem goes away?)

i will find out

there must be another factor playing this becuase right now the screen is not doing it, it seems to be late at night when it happens
