Recycling hard drives

Go to solution Solved by MrBucket101,

Hmm ok

if its an AIO, there should be a sticker on the bottom/back/somewhere that has the key on it

Hello freindly people of Linus tech tips

I know a little about building pc's however this has been bugging for a while. I have a 1tb western digital hard drive with windows 8.1 on it. After watching scrapyard wars Luke said that you could always save money buy using a hard drive that already has an is Os on it. If so would I be able to use my hard drive in a new build without having to buy a new Os? Thanks

I believe you need to read this thread :

should work you'll just need to install the drivers once it gets up and running (be sure to write down the key just incase though if possible)
