You don't need a Z97 board with that i3 chip as you can't overclock it.  Would recommend the Gigabyte GA-H97M-D3H or Asus Z87-A.

And yes, 500W is enough to power your system, but I would recommend EVGA 100-B1-0500-KR

 

You will save money with these recommendations too!

Yeah that's a great idea if you're planning on going to an i7 or even the 4690k.  It's smart to "future proof" as much as you can!

I would recommend the Rosewill Capstone 550w: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/rosewill-power-supply-capstone550

It's simply a better unit than the Corsair CX and the EVGA B.
