It should be. How is your 12V railing?

Yep, it will be fine.

It will be enough, yes.

Also, I'm not sure if you can OC that pentium on that MOBO. Yes, some non z97 mobos can OC but do your research. But overall, I think an i3 with a h81 mobo will be a better choice since it has 2 more threads and HP

But H81 mobos are cheaper than B85? And you will also need a third-party cpu cooler to use the full potential of the Pentium K. Combined, I think that that will cost more than an i3 with a h81 mobo

Well check how many amps you got. Basically most of your amps should be on your 12v. Can you link me what brand PSU you are using?

I believe that i will not get good OC with h81

I have no money to buy I3 now...

Wait till you get enough money. Trust me, it is worth it. And as I said, you can buy a cheaper mobo and don't need a third party cooler. Also, I suggest downgrading your gpu so you can buy 8gb of ram

edit: and 430W is also enough

Have you bought the PSU yet? If not, can you provide a budget as well as a link to the store you are buying from?

He said it's the Coolermaster B500 in the OP. Depending on whether it's the v1 or v2, it's either two 12 V rails @ 24/21 A, or a single 12 V rail @ 38 A.

I have purchased i3 few weeks ago, and it died.. (I got tricked by seller, and i didn't get my money back and it hurts..)

I will OC g3258 to 4.2 (Well that is my goal) and i can do it on stock cooler, well i hope if nothing else

what?

The CPU and video card both draw their power from the 12 V rail, so it's important that the majority of the unit's wattage comes from that rail.

Wattage = Voltage × Current, so 12 V × 38 A = 456 Watts on the +12 V rail, assuming we're talking about the Coolermaster B500 v2. And yes, it's enough.

Well that is a shitty situation :/

How did it die? And if you want to go with the pentium then I guess its an ok config but add another 4gb of ram later

in future i can hook up I5 4440 and one more stick of ram 4GB Kingston HyperX easily, without upgrading PSU?

idk how it died, my friend told me that CPU was used.. (Who knows where it was used)

15-20 minutes it was working and that is it..

Every time when someone mentions that i should get i3, it's like someone is stabbing me in a heart.

yeah i will definitely be getting more RAM and i will try to get I5 4440 in 2016.

I just hope that i don't need to upgrade my PSU :(

Yes. This graph shows peak power consumption for a system with an R9 280X in Furmark (a GPU stress test):

Note that their test system used a 130 Watt i7-4960X. The G3258 and even i5-4440 are considerably lower-power CPUs. And like I said, it's a stress test, so the power demand is likely larger than most games ever would be.

Did you buy it used? If so that was bad luck, if not I woulf sue the company.

Anyways, I know how it feels when someone mentions something you had tragic or bad experience with.

And I'm not sure if its worth getting that i5 in '16. I have it and its great and all but wasn't it a waste buying the pentium now?

And yeah, I live in Slovenia its economy is shit but from what I've heard Bosnia is even worse.

and also i will be adding more ram, so you are 100% sure 500W will be just fine
