Usb 3.1?

Go to solution Solved by Jade,

What do you want clarified about it? It's USB based on USB3, but smaller, reversible, and faster. Apple is rumored to be including it on the next iPhone, Chromebooks and the new Macbook are starting to use it as a primary method of charging and data transfer.

So I saw an ad on this very forum that was about asus' x99 motherboards including usb 3.1 which has read and writes of 10Gbps. I'm a little confused on the new usb 3.1 so could someone clarify that for me? Thanks.

^ The Type-C connector, that is.

USB3.1 can also come in the connector we all know and love.

Basically, it's faster than USB3, but isn't prevalent yet.

Hopefully it'll become the new standard in a few years time, but who knows.
