Hello there,

I have been overclocking my processor quite some while now, I had it @ 4,2 GHz on my old gigabyte mobo, then switched to a asus Z87-A because I got a second graphicscard for SLI (old mobo didn't support it). Now when I got my new mobo, I decided to OC my processor some more, checked all sorts of vids and searched every option that I had in my BIOS  on then web.

Now I had a OC of 4,4 GHz - 1,250v (I can set voltage lower but but the sake of stabillity I made it this high) that was stable, used the intel burn test 3-4 times and after that I did a 3-4 hour session of AIDA64. Temps were a tad high on burn test (85 celcius, still fine) and 70 celcius on the AIDA64. I thought it runned the tests fine my PC still freezed randomly once every hour when I am playing Heroes of the Storm. When I did the AIDA64 test again for 2 hours it was succesfull.

I'll post some pictures of my BIOS settings, if somebody got any suggestions I would be glad to hear them!

PC specs:

MOBO: Asus Z87-A

CPU: Intel I5-4670K @4,4GHz

RAM: 8GB's Crucial Balistix

GPU: Gigabyte 780ti (got two, only using one due to making my system stable and waiting for a better PSU)

PSU: Corsair CX750M

CPU-Cooler: Gelid Solutions Tranquillo Rev.2

Thx in advance!

I was able to achieve a stable 4.5ghz @1.26v with my Z87-A and 4670K, but mine destabilized after a few days. Haven't had a chance to work with it some more yet but I'll see what I can do this evening.

CPU cache ratio, try reducing it to x35, that improved mine quite a bit. Maybe bump your voltage up by .01 at a time too. I find the 4670k is a little temperamental at times and the Z87-A likes to be a drama queen.

100% stable isn't always 100% functional unfortunately.

So it is possible that its the MOBO that is causing it? Perhaps I should try a higher OC on my gigabyte mobo, liked that one better afterall:D Too bad it didn't support SLI.

Anyways, Have you seen any settings that are out of the ordinary?

CPU input voltage to 1.85v, CPU core voltage to 1.26v. Input voltage at 1.7 is probably what is throwing it off a bit.

Your settings look pretty good. Every board and chip play differently together. Its usually changes from design to design. Like I said before, try upping your core voltage bit by bit.

You're safe to about 1.35V for core voltage so you've got some room left to play. You can also bump your CPU input voltage a bit, that can increase stability too.

Got any suggestions on what setting they should probably be? :)

Seems you might have a few settings off.

Your ram, what speed is it? Cause I am seeing 2 different speeds selected in the screenshots. 1600 and 1333...

Also you are only giving it v1.325? From what Newegg shows that is v1.5 ram. (check in the specifications)

Is your BIOS completely updated? if not, this could be your problem.

With the pictures you submitted I wasn't able to tell what voltage you were using on your CPU.
