Well I was just looking at external gpu videos on YT for some reason and had a thought about this video https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=bP_8EYQ-2RA

Could one simply remove the wireless card from the mini pcie slot and fit the adaptor into it? Obviously if it was that easy it would have been done by now. But curiosity and my lack of knowledge on the subject forces me to ask. Would be good if you could. Maybe not that cost effective but the small form factor would be interesting. What exactly is the speed/specs of that mini pcie slot?

I've done some reasearch into this as an alternative for my aging laptop .. and most egpu solutions atm operate at x2 at the maximum the specific one your looking at is at 1x I believe so...while low-mid range cards might not be affected the high end stuff will definitely start to bottleneck I think.

as to whether or not it'll fit in the wirless slot I dont think there would be a problem. the hard ware should be the same as a laptop..but I dont know that much about the brix

Do you still consider it small form factor when you have to add a small case for the gpu and psu that you are attaching to the brix?

It's neat concept to tinker with, more practical for laptops because of docking portability, but for desktops you are better served with a mini itx rig.
