I noticed that I'm not always over 60 fps when maxed out. When I look at MSI afterburner I notice i'm using about 50-60% of my GPU. About the same for my CPU.

Anyone knows why it does that?

I have an i5-4690k and a GTX 980. 8Go RAM.

There could be another system bottleneck that is hard to detect, try with vsync off?

there are a couple games that can have frame drops from issues other than CPU and GPU bottlenecks

Intel i5-3570K/ Gigabyte GTX 1080/ Asus PA248Q/ Sony MDR-7506/MSI Z77A-G45/ NHD-14/Samsung 840 EVO 256GB+ Seagate Barracuda 3TB/ 16GB HyperX Blue 1600MHZ/  750w PSU/ Corsiar Carbide 500R

Does it ever go above that? Maybe your gpu is running on 1x or 4x pci? Check your bios to see what it was allocated

Yea on the character selection screen i'm at 100 fps (game cap). In game it goes between 40-100 fps depending where I am. I also noticed, the more FPS, the more I use my GPU but never over 80% even though i'm not capped at 100. My PC runs game like Far cry 3 and Tomb raider maxed out at 60 fps+. If I ever get below, my GPU usage will go at 100%.

About BIOS stuff, I would think that my MSI Gaming 3 Mobo would be wise enough to give the appropriate settings. PCI-E Lanes control is set to Auto and same for the Gen X. I'm not expert, but I guess I could set it to x4/x0/x0 and Gen 3 just in case?? About PCI latency, I have no idea but it's currently set to 32 PCI Bus Clocks.. I'm not using the other PCI slots

Yup I tried V-sync and saw no diferences. I don't see what else then GPU and CPU would cause bottlemeck except RAM but 8Go should be enough for a few years.

well there are a lot of possible system bottlenecks that could have to do with any number of things if bad code were in place, sometimes memory bandwidth instead of volume is the issue or other system parts.
