tracking cookies

Hey guys, I recently got norton and it 'cleared' around 17 tracking cookies. a day or so later, the same cookies were removed. And today, for example they were here again.

anyone know how to rid them for good? And what do tracking cookies do, exactly?

They track what sites you go on etc. iirc, usually to sell on

not really, no. it's just annoying when you see adverts, say if you've been looking at desks, saying stuff like "DESK INCORPORATED OHHHHHHH YEAHHHHHHH"
