So I made my own computer and at the time I did not know how to overclock but now I do. I am currently using the Gigabyte G1.Sniper B5 Motherboard with a B85 intel chipset. Thats the problem. B85. I cannot overclock my Intel Pentium G3258 processor. I turn the clock speed up and it says it is overclocked in the BIOS but then when I restart my computer to save the settings, I go back into the BIOS and it is then running at 3.2 GHz. Can someone help me overclock this thing because the pentium can overclock really well and it says the motherboard supports overclocking with my CPU but then it wont work.

Make sure when you exit the bios to save and apply the settings.

Did you make sure it's running at an overclock once the system booted up?

You can use something like CPU-Z and RealTemp.

I am not familiar with the Gigabyte BIOS, but are there OC Profiles?

Is it possible for you to provide a BIOS screenshot? Please do so.

What kind of OC did you dial in? (clock, voltage...)

It should be working, sounds like operator error.

Make sure there is nothing on the physical motherboard that needs to be enabled. (check the manual)

Bios updated. (check again)

Drivers updated. (check again)

Read through the BIOS carefully, make sure there isn't something that needs to be enabled that you are not enabling.

My cpu is OC'd to 4.3 Ghz but in bios it still says its at 3.4 Ghz. You need to go into your OS and stress your system with CPU-z open to see what its really at.

CPU: 3570K @ 4.3Ghz MOBO: ASUS P8z77-v Deluxe RAM: 2-4GB Gskill GPU: EVGA 670 FTW SSD: Vertex 4 256 Case: CM HAF 932
