Wireless AC vs. Powerline

Hi, I live in a 2 story house with my router being downstairs and my main rig being upstairs. My question is will powerline be faster/ better choice or would wireless ac be better?

I plan to add a nas onto it, so I wish to stream movies as well as store and access large files from it

Yeah, but does the NAS use Wireless AC? If it's hard-wired, Wireless AC will have no benefit at all.

"nas" is network accessed storage, it will run over WIFI so i can access the content on all computers, gaming consoles as well as tv's, it may be hardwired to my main rig but there are plenty others devices that i will wish to access content on

You will not use the Wireless AC tech if the NAS doesn't use it. And the consoles don't use AC, so they wouldn't get any bandwidth increase.

The router you picked is still good. you just won't benefit from AC if your devices won't utilize it. But...when devices take advantage of it, you'll be set.

i d prefer powerline as many device has an ethernet port and not many got wireless ac. also even if ac got higher theotical speed i doubt that (with enough obstacles/interference) it will be as stable as powerline.

and a nas should always have a wired connection (it could be right beside the modem since you don t need to physically access it.

i don't know how far the NAS will be from the router, but Wireless AC is in the 5 ghz spectrum, which makes higher throughput possible at the cost of smaller range, i would use some powerlines if the NAS is far away from the router.

i use wireless over powerline. Powerline just sucks for me, max 6mbps up and down whereas with wireless i get 60mbps down and 4 up
