4K Monitors...

Go to solution Solved by Vypr,

I have looked at the P2715Q

Amazon:

RRP: £479.99 Price: £272.74 + £4.99 delivery You Save: £207.25 (43%)

OC3D has it at £299.99

inc VAT

How good is the P2715Q? Reviews are a bit iffy by the looks of it (Not sure if that's obligatory Dell hate or not)

Not sure why 1440/1600p are more expensive even for 120/144hz....Would have though it would be the opposite but I guess that's because most "4k" monitors aren't actually 4K :P

I love P2715Q monitors, I have two and they have good colors and viewing angles. The only issue with the monitors are the bezels and the lack of GSYNC or free sync which isn't an issue for me.

I am a cheap bugger!

Can anyone who has experienced this monitor Acer 4k2k CB280HK tell me if this is a good choice? Will be upgrading me GPU since it's arse is collapsing and randomly ramps the fans for most games (even Minecraft...) so would this be a good choice I am waiting for the R9 390X series but might buy R9 290X or GTX 970 SLIU/CF sooner since I am impatient :P

tl;dr -  Acer 4k2k CB280HK good monitor?

I've used one before and I dislike the color and viewing angles because it's a TN panel, that's a pretty hefty price for a non-gsync/TN display. I currently have two P2715Q monitors they're IPS 4k displays and they've been on sale for about $460 before.

As for the bezel I don't mind I generally only game on one monitor. Sounds like I may take your advice :) GSync doesn't bother me since I am an AMD man for now but Freesync do you know when they are releasing FSync to manufacturers or will they wait for the 3XX series of AMD cards then release it?

I don't keep up to date with the FSYNC news so I'm not sure about that. You'll love the display tho, it's the best for the price. If you're willing to wait throughout this year there will be a ton of new monitor releases and prices of current models will be drove down.
