Decent Microphones

Go to solution Solved by Cacao,

Something like a blue snowball is a great mic for starting out, it's only about 70$ and it sounds amazing, I've been using it for about 1/2 year and have had no problems with it.

Hi,

I couldn't think of the right place to ask a question like this, but I'm sure a few of you have experience with this.

I'm looking into some way of getting a decent Microphone for recording and the like. I'd like to start creating content on youtube and the like (just as a pastime), and whilst I can make my videos look fairly professional with 1080p recording and some decent editing, the audio quality from my headsets microphone is abysmal, and has put me off publishing any content as of yet.

I'm aware that my current headphones (those silly fata1ty ones) are pretty poor quality, and hence an upgrade just to my headset would be possible, if there are any headsets out there which provide decent audio quality. Otherwise, a standalone mic would suffice.

My budget for this wouldn't really go further than  than £70 (~$100) , as any more than that is a bit much for a hobby.  :)

Thanks,
Jack
