Asus gtx 970 mods

Ok so I'm planning on painting my strix 970 fan shroud red with plasti dip. From what I see on the card there is four screws in the front. I'm guessing there's also four screws on the back side (the side with the pci-e connector. Is there any other screws I need to take off ?

there should be 12 altogether. Theres the 8 around the shroud (holding the fans) and then four on the chip side of the heatsink (far corners)

would there be a way to get the screws of without taking the cooler off ?

He only had to remove 4 screws, looks like two on the top and two on the bottom. Your card likely comes apart the same way but with extra screws. Just take it out of your PC and examine it.

Don't forget to remove the fans, you don't want to paint that with plasti dip. 

lol. ive sen more videos and looked it up more and the 8 screws ( 4 on the front and 4 on the back) are for the fans then there are 4 screws, one on each corner that hold on the shroud to the cooler

I was letting you know because it happened to me, I painted some fans with plasti dip and they were unbalanced. This caused them to be noisy as hell haha.
