Im going 21:9

TheLazyGrizzly

So i been looking at 21:9 monitors for a long time now, and so far i looks like a choose between AOC U3477PQU and LG 34UM95-P.

But if there is any 21:9 monitors that have less background bleed or better viewing angles im open for suggestions my budget is 6000 DKK ≈ 800 euro.

Get a curved version. In 21:9 it makes a pretty big difference.

As a wise man once told me. :D

ON A 7 MONTH BREAK FROM THESE LTT FORUMS. WILL BE BACK ON NOVEMBER 5th.

I recommend the Dell U3415W. Arguably the best 21:9 monitor released thus far with by far the best warranty. It's also curved.

Also, I payed 799€ (incl. shipping) for it. Don't know how much it costs in Denmark though.

If your happy to deal with the backlight bleed then sure get the Dell, the samsung curved once calibrated gives the best of both worlds, great colours, very low response times and NO bleed.

There's only very minor bleed in the upper corners in my Dell. Only really noticeable in a dark room if you look for them. Also Samsung costs 200€ more where I live and doesn't have nearly as good warranty. Also the Samsung has gotten a lot of mixed feedback. You say it's great but bunch of other people have complained about its lackluster contrast and colors. Even after calibration.

So yeah. I'm happy with the Dell.

Wow, here crossing fingers it keeps the 3440 x 1440 res and they dont move down to 2560 x 1080 like LG did with their 21:9 freesync monitor.

Not sure if im allowed to write this here but the samsung is currently £679.15 with free next day shipping on the samsung uk website which is where i purchased mine, which makes it cheaper than the Dell U3415W and honestly im over the moon with mine and i am a very picky person, for this amount of money you expect the best and at this moment in time if you dont want to wait another year for the next big thing to be available the samsung is your safest option and will last you a long time

Here in denmark the Samsung S34E790C is about 800 DDK ≈ 107 euro more expensive than the Dell U3415W, everything so far seems equal or better than LG 34UC97-S for a better price.

I really hope the Acer XR341CK comes out this month, but i still havent decided which one of them to get.
