GPU cabling problem

Go to solution Solved by -rascal-,

Wait, I don't quite understand your question.

The Thermaltake Evo Blue 650W is a modular PSU. On the PSU end, the connections should be female...since you have to connect the necessary detachable cables to it before you connect it for your graphics card, SATA devices, etc.

Are you saying you have none of the detachable cables?

If that's the situation, I'm sure you can order replacements directly from Thermaltake.

I recently got an XFX R9 280x and (stupidly) didn't check what cables I have available before trying it

The 280x has a female 8 pin slot and a female 6 pin slot.

The 280x came with: a 2x female molex --> male 6pin adapter

                                  a 2x female 6 pin --> male 8pin adapter

My power supply is a Thermaltake Evo Blue 650W

I have 4 female 8 pin slots and 2 female 6 pin slots free on the PSU

There is very little redundancy in the existing cables so I only have access to maybe a couple molex's that are daisy chained anyway.

I got the PSU off a friend and so don't have any spare cables to use

TL;DR

I've got 8 and 6 pin female slots on both GPU and PSU and no cables to work with

What cables do I need to buy/solder together?

Where do I get them?

Thanks for any input.
