Stuck on boot hdd

Hi,

I have been having troubles latelly after re-install windows 8.1, due to an error on my C drive. Previously, my other HDD was working more than fine, yet, after switching from 8 to 7 and back to 8, it doesn't function properly anymore. When I connect it, it gets stuck on the windows booting screen taking me to a black screen after 30 minutes of wait. Yet, when I remove it and use only my SSD, it works. I have already set it my SSD as main boot option in the Bios, but nothing changes :-(.

Update, this was posted by my friend on my account. Anyways, I have tried setting the boot drive order and I have tried force booting from the ssd through bios but it still gets stuck on a black screen =(

Does it show the windows logo then go black?

Yes,this time when force booting it now shows the mouse cursor.

This happened to me the other day it could be the same thing

 

Try this it might work it might not:

 1. When it goes black press CTRL + ALT + DEL.

 2. If this works then it should take you to the screen where you can Log Off, Switch user etc. If you are on this screen select "Switch User" and then select your account again.

 3. If step 1 & 2 worked then you should go into your windows desktop, If this happens again just do the steps again and after 1 or 2 times it should just stop going to the black screen.

It didn't work =( all I have is a black screen with a cursor that I can move, should I turn it off and try again?

Now a screen that says diagnosing your pc has shown up, guessing that force booting worked it's just taking a really long time

No I don't I'm sorry.

It eventually finished and said it couldn't solve the problem and that i need to restart, I did and now it says it's checking for disc errors
