So i need a new gpu

So i have a r9 270x. but it crashes when i specifically play 2 games. phaseshift and cod4. unfortunately. those are the 2 games i play the MOST.

 

so im lookin for another card....i have about 100 ISH $ to throw at it. i was thinking of the Nvidia GTX 480. seems to be good but i want some second opinions.

ill be using 2 monitors. both running @ 1024x768. and recording games with action. thats about the extent of what ill need    the power for. 

i currently am using a radeon 5830...its not quite strong enough. itll start lagging when theres a game on the first screen and anything as simple as notepad on the second. and vice versa.

 

 

so ideas?

Do you know if it's specifically that crashing? I remember on an old rig the bios of my mobo were imcompatible with the games.

My Big ol fuckin check list of 124 error diagnosing.

FAIL 1. Stress tested GPU in furmark @ 4k resolution for 30 mins. (No Errors)

FAIL 2. Torture tested my CPU. for 30 mins ( No Errors)

FAIL 3. Re-installed GPU drivers.

FAIL 4. Ran Memtest for for 3 passes. no errors.

FAIL 5. Replaced RAM with new sticks.

FAIL 6. Updated Bios

FAIL 7. Updated windows.

FAIL 8. Switched out motherboard+Updated those bios

FAIL 9. Switched out my 1 TB HDD (Windows installation was on a 80GB drive)

FAIL 10. Ran sfc /scannow. was 2 errors + ChkDsk on windows HDD.(No Errors)

FAIL 11. Reinstalled windows

FAIL 12. Underclock my r9 270x

FAIL 13. Switch out 750w PSU for another one.

PENDING 14. Switch out my r9 270x with the 5830

(NEXT IN LINE FOR TESTING)

Turn down/up the voltage to my CPU

Switch out fx 8320 for 1055T

 tried recreating  the problem with the 5830 and it sa nogo so the r9 is FUBAR. 

so yeah i need a new  GPU
