Hey so I was wondering if my computer would be able to handle 3 GPU's, and I was wondering what I should do with my computer if their is anything I should upgrade or change or add etc...

 

My setup is:

Intel Core I7-4790K

ASUS Maximus VII Hero

2- Geforce GTX 970's 

OCZ 1000w power supply

Custom liquid cooling

2- 2tb WD hard drive

120gb Samsung 850 pro ssd

256gb Samsung 850 evo ssd

ASUS Rog Front Base

2 ASUS monitors both 24" 

Razer Blackwidow Chroma

Razer Blackwidow Chroma wireless mouse.

Logitech Z623.

Your power supply should be fine, can you give the exact model, if it's the ZX 1000W or Fatal1ty 1000W you have nothing to worry about.
Your motherboard doesn't support 3-way SLI so you'd need to upgrade to a board with a PLX chip or go X79 / X99.
Beyond 2-Way SLI the performance increase becomes less and less worth it. If you really want / need the upgrade I'd go for dual 980's / wait for the 300 series from AMD and get two of the cards that have the performance you want.
