I would not exactly believe it, you never know if somebody changed something.

Still, I want to know about what it is. Like, Intel, amd, ect

Yeah, it is always possible someone changed something from the factory-installed hardware. You can check, but it will only tell you what the system had when it was originally built by Dell. So, it will only help if the seller didn't modify the system.

I'm asking how to check!!!

In that case, yes, it could help. But still, they could have possibly changed the motherboard and CPU, so it could have been an Intel, but now an AMD, but it can still be helpful to check the motherboard. But the odds of them changing the motherboard and CPU and motherboard are low. Just a sec while I check.

Could not find anything under the service tag. But judging by this http://www.dell.com/us/dfb/p/poweredge-2900/pd it should either have two dual cores or two quad core xeons. If the guy didn't fiddle with the HW.

My modded Air 540 build

Spoiler

Ok thanks a lot for that! I was about to go get my Dell upstairs. Lol.

Anyways, just head over to Dell, here, www.support.dell.com

Then, put in your service tag.

After that, you will get a new page. On that page, click system configuration.

Under components, I found this:

PROCESSOR, 80556K, XDW, E5205, FC-LGA6

Edit: This is an Exon processor. Learn more here: http://ark.intel.com/products/33093/Intel-Xeon-Processor-E5205-6M-Cache-1_86-GHz-1066-MHz-FSB

That is a pretty good deal for $100. Maybe too good to be true?

Edit: It is running Ubuntu though. I don't know how that would make it $100 though. Really weird. $450 on eBay

Well, that is really up to you. But, I would get it anyway because you can get two more cores for the same price. :P lol

Hmm, looks like the PSU is 80+ silver

Looks like the CPU is not that much below my FX-6300

I wonder if i could OC it...

probably not, its a xeon.
