So I have a pair of studio monitors, I was wondering if it's wrong or dangerous for the units to just take off the protection filter thing.

Some say it is, some say it's not.

So can I?

These are the ones I have.

Cheers,

correct me if I'm wrong, but I think you'll just get more dust in your monitors.

They're just dust covers really.  Removing them WILL change your sound, but the change will likely be too small to hear for most, and in most cases is better without the cloth.  The only thing I'd worry about is keeping them clean now.  The cones are usually pretty thin and one sneeze while you're trying to dust them can end in catastrophe, haha!
