So right now I feel like order ALL the ACT practice books.

I'm ordering a few that focuses on English because that's what I need to work on.

What books have you used? (Amazon Links)

Sound: Custom one pros, Audioengine A5+ with S8 sub.

I haven't used any, but I have taken a couple of ACT classes (which were not very beneficial). I am assuming you are a sophomore or junior in high school and you feel like you need to prepare. That it totally normal. Just don't start stressing over it. The ACT can be taken multiple times (and it isn't expensive) and really has no effect on anything after you get accepted to the school(s) of your choice and find scholarships if needed.

That being said, the English section was my worst part of the test. I do not remember the strategies that the classes told me to use, but there are free websites that tell you the same information. The best thing that you can do is take practice tests in a silent room and stick to the time limit.

Also, check your local library for ACT books before buying one. Chances are you will only need it for the check out period anyway (or you can renew it). The ACT doesn't change much from year to year as far as strategies and general knowledge required, so getting a book from say 2013 wouldn't necessarily be a disadvantage.

Good Luck!

Edit: Also, if your school does not offer the one with writing on the normal test day, consider re taking it during another available test day to get a writing score. Some colleges require that, but fail to mention it until later on.
