Replaced GPU thermal paste and fan

the same thing is happening to me, usually while im streaming youtube or netflix (screen freezes but audio keeps playing), mouse still moves but windows wont open or close and CTRL+ALT+DELETE doesn't do anything.

I would assume its a virus but i don't do anything that would get me one, will be running a deep scan tonight.

Under what conditions is it freezing? Just idling? Or does it freeze under gaming / heavy use conditions?

It sounds like a driver issue. Given that windows 10 is still in the beta testing phase and that not everyone has updated their existing drivers to support windows 10, I would guess this.

Windows 10 is a tech preview right now, so it is not reliable.

Except that, there might me a temperature issue somewhere, maybe. Can you tell us cpu. motherboard and gpu temperatures?

Low.

No temp issues.

random freeze... it could be the ram. have you tried to run a memtest or using the computer with one ram module at a time?

(still think its win10 though...)

I only have one modual.

I'll try mem test.

Prob just win 10
