Um, where are you putting the Resource pack in, and hoping you know that you have to select the resource pack from the resource pack menu in-game, or if its appearing on the in-game menu and isn't loading when you activate it that's a different story.

Intel i5-6600k (Cooled by a 212 evo) - Asus Z170-A - Asus Dual OC GTX 1060 - NZXT S340 - WD 1TB (Getting SSD this month, hopefully) - 8GB DDR4-2400

Same happens to me... I would like to know a solution for this too. I have 2GB GRAM and I tried up to 6GB RAM for MC. I just assumed it was a problem with the game not being able to handle it no matter what.

G3258 @ 4.5 | 8GB Team Vulcan RAM | 128GB Kingston V300 SSD (I didn't know what I was doing when I bought it) | MSI H81I Motherboard | Corsair H55 with Noctua NF-P12 | EVGA SSC GTX 960 4GB | OCZ 550W Fully Modular PSU with Noctua NF-A14 | Cooler Master Elite 130 (Soon to be something cool)

What happens is it kinda crashes after a few seconds of being frozen (normal for applying a high res resource pack) but the whole game doesn't crash, just goes to the previous menu screen.
