Europe Power Adapters?

We (amereicans) are plannning a trip to Europe.

 

We are going to England, France, Germany, and Italy.

 

What kind of power adapters/converters would we ened to charge all our devices?

 

Links would be nice, preferably from amazon.

 

(BTW, will need to charge 2 iphones, 2 androids, 1 nexus 7, and one windows 8 tablet, not that that matters)

I think you might need a U.S. to U.K. voltage step-down converter, otherwise you're likely to fry your electronics.

 

I know you can swap out power bricks and power boards in certain U.S. electronic equipment, to get them to run over here (I've done it with a PlayStation (and a Dreamcast) and I understand it's possible with certain Xbox 360 models also).

 

It may actually be cheaper to try and track down the U.K. chargers for it all but a good quality step-down converter might do, although you might need more than one, if you all have to charge at the same time?

 

As for quality and price, it varies so much I'm not sure I could advise you on it?

 

May actually be cheaper to buy the equivalent U.K. chargers but check the voltages etc to see if it's feeding the equipment the same charge?

Your US adapters should normally all be able to deal with 240V, but check the small print on them for "110-240V" or similar to make sure.

The only problem then would be the different plugs, but any travel adapter should be able to solve that.

Indeed. As long as all your chargers are rated for up to 240V, you only need the outlet adapter.

Bear in mind that the UK and mainland Europe use different plugs, so based on your travel plan you'll really want one that can do both. The one I linked can, but it's not grounded.
