RAM frequency's

So in my build im running a kit of gskill 2x4gb 2400mhz and i have a pentium g3258 and ive heard that the maximum frequency on this cpu is 1333mhz but i enabled xmp and ram is running at 2400mhz?? is it actully running at that speed or is it being bottlenecked by the cpu's limitations???

The MHz speed depends on bus speed, and its up to whether or not your motherboard can handle it, and not nessassarily whether or not the pentium can. But yes, you can run it, but you will need to OC the CPU to get the max performance between the CPU and the RAM.

the CPU and the RAM are at the same price which is really bad idea since RAM speeds won't make your computer that much faster

but anyway what is your motherboard cause it depends it not the CPU

okay but he did say anything about not having a GPU so i assume that he got one and the high bandwidth RAM is really bad choose but yeah that will make huge Difference in the FPS

I believe that RAM frequency relates to how fast the CPU can write to it.

So you made be bottle-necked by how fast the CPU can read it, but it reads so fast anyways that you wouldn't be able to tell.
