Part upgrade benefits?

Go to solution Solved by VolkA,

As you mentioned, the cooler upgrade is obviously very necessary. Was just meaning what parts should I upgrade if i wanted to move to the next tech level.

Anyways, thanks very much!

Next tech level would be X99 which is very expensive now. Therefore I said you can carry on with your custom cooling with your current specs. Maybe 3 or 4 years down the road, when X99 is cheaper, then you can consider upgrading. Your current rig is pretty good to play all kinds of games for now.

Hi

I am going to build a custom water cooling loop for my PC but before that should I upgrade some of my components?

What would u guys suggest? And what would be the benefits for example upgrading to Asus Maximus Z97 VII Hero?

Current system specs:

Fractal Design Define R5 Windowed case

Asus z87 C motherboard

Intel Core i5 Haswell 4670K

Gigabyte gtx 970 g1 gaming

8 Gb of Team Group 1600 MHZ DDR3 memory

1 TB Western Digital HDD

Kingston 128 Gb ssd

Cooler Master Silent Pro Gold 550w PSU

Intel Stock cooler

I want to own a balanced system, what should I do?

Thanks for your help!

Anyway, your specs seems to be fine and should not require any upgrades for the time being or even a few years down the road.

Go ahead with the water cooling loop I think.
