Nvidia shield tablet+wireless xbox controller issues

I recently got an nvidia shield tablet, and naturally I did not want to spend more money on a controller that only worked with it

I got an OTG cable, and plugged in the wireless receiver, and connected the controller just fine.

 

my problem is that games like Trine 2 and modern combat 4 just don't work properly. Is there any fix for this?
