So at the moment I'm running a CM Nepton 280L with an Intel i7 4790K @ 4.0GHz and I've been performing some stress tests using Prime95 to see how the temps hold up.

The issue is, I've got both Speccy and SpeedFan open and they're telling me different temps.

Speccy is screaming at me and saying the CPU is around 90 degrees C while SpeedFan is only registering 60 degrees C.

Just want to know which one is more reliable, or if I'm doing something incredibly stupid.

Thanks.

SpeedFan is always wrong for me, including fan speeds. I would get Core temp.

Uhh so Hwmonitor is registering temps at around 100 C......

Are you running it with stock volts? Becuase that is big no-no with P95. Also whole software is known to stress CPU well over realistic loads. Use XTU, OCCT or Aida64 instead.
