My VPN will not let me access the internet without the VPN turned on.

While I was in South Korea I bought a surface pro 3 and had it shipped from the states. In order to access popular American sites like Netflix, Hulu and to buy games from steam, you need a VPN. I got Express VPN and it worked great until about three months ago when it wouldn't let me access the internet without the VPN turn on. Its not a major problem for me but it is an inconvenience that I would like to fix. Any help?

try just reset the surface pro 3 anyway since it was from north korea
