So ive had my current laptop for around 4 years now and i feel its time to step up the performance with a ssd.

So i was wondering what ssd would others recommend to upgrade it with?

The laptop is a toshiba satellite l775d-s7340 I picked it up for around 200 bucks when the staples in my town went out of business so I couldnt beat the price.

Also if there are any other recommendations to help with performance I would love to hear those aswell.

Its my work Pc aswell as my everyday laptop at home so it gets used very frequently.

Thanks in advance for any replies.

:)

What size are you looking for? A 512 GB laptop SSD is probably going to run you more than you actually paid for the computer.

CPU: Intel i5-2400 Mobo: ASUS Maximus IV Gene-Z RAM: 8GB G.Skill DDR3 1333MHz GPU: Sapphire R9 280x Tri-X Case Corsair Obsidian Series 350D PSU: EVGA 500w 80+ Certified

If you have 4 GB or less of ram then try and upgrade that also don't waste money on a high end ssd as you probably will only have sata2 3Gbps on a 4 year old laptop. Just get the best value per gb ssd as they are all much faster than a hdd especially in a laptop as they have cheap and unreliable 2.5" drives.

Gaming Rig:CPU: Xeon E3-1230 v2¦RAM: 16GB DDR3 Balistix 1600Mhz¦MB: MSI Z77A-G43¦HDD: 480GB SSD, 3.5TB HDDs¦GPU: AMD Radeon VII¦PSU: FSP 700W¦Case: Carbide 300R

@Kermit

I didnt plan on going too big just enough to hold my work programs and maybe a few games.

I store all my media and other things like that on a network drive on my home network and flash drives for work items.

@Madgemade

I have 6gb of ram in the laptop but I was thinking about trying to go to 8gb.
