I'm looking to spend about $600 - $700 on upgrading my current PC. Here is my current specs list http://prntscr.com/6k3gtk.

Defiently into a gpu, and maybe a better psu if you need it. If you don't have one already, an ssd for boot drive and more storage if needed. Gpu, either the R9 290/290x or the 970/980 by nivida.

I suggest getting a GTX 980 and then a better monitor to use the potential in the card.

Why do you want to upgrade? What do you hope to acomplish by upgrading?

Im so patriotic, I piss red white and blue. My doctor told me it was pancreatic cancer, I told him to SHUT HIS COMMIE MOUTH.

Just looking for better performance in graphically demanding games because this gpu isn't really doing that for me right now, I also do a lot of video editing so better preview would be beneficial.

Ram and cpu is what makes or breaks video editing. There is no such thing as too much ram for serious 3d rendering and VFX. Maybe a 970 and adding some ram? Or if you have enough left over a 6 core i7/xeon?

Honestly, his 4790 I7 should be doing pretty good in it as of now. Anything better such as one of the new I7's will require a mobo upgrade as well.

I hear you, but I'm mostly looking to upgrade for gaming.

970 is more than enough for 1080p gaming
