I'm using sabertooth 990fx r2.0. Fx 8350 and asus strix gtx 970 and a1600x900 60hz monitor running at 700w psu. I should be able to max out far cry 4 as per the benchmarks and get atleast 50fps. But I get only 30-35.

I really don't know what the problem is. I reinstald windows..updated all my drivers..even my bios is updated.

My gpu usage shows around 60 percent while playing far cry 4. This is just not acceptable.:(

Any help would be appreciated.

Common Maxwell issue, go to the Nvidia Control panel and set prefer Max Performance.

Could be that the CPU is bottlenecking the 970. At lower resolutions such as 1600x900 the games become less GPU dependent and more CPU dependent. An fx 8350 is known to bottleneck the 970 at 1080p let alone 900p. However you shouldn't be getting 30 fps. Did you check clock speeds during gaming.?

yeah my clock speeds are just fine at 1316 mhz constant ! ! I've heard that gtx 970 is optimezed for 1080p display and I've seen all the gameplays at 1080p running on gtx 970 and fx 8350 on youtube and they seem to run fine at 50-60 fps maxed out. Could my monitor resolution be the problem ?

thats wired are u sure gpu is using so much

use geforce experience it will fix the problem

yes I have..however when the optimise the game using geforce experience..the game uses DSR. My gpu usage increases as in watchdogs and I get around 45 fps average which is the expected reult due to such a high resolution.
