Yes. i did it with my old PSU.. it was set up to push air threw it and out the back but i fliped the fan so it sucked the air threw it.. was a crap ton quieter and ran cooler... about 5c but mainly did it to see if it was quieter and it was :D... It was some sorta Thermal Take 500W

Just cause it worked for me doesnt 100% mean it will work for every one.. you can always try it and if it doesnt work just put it back how it was.

Well as the headline says I am curious of wether or not it's possible to turn the psu fan so that it faces the other direction meaning that it blows air instead of sucking. Meaning would it affect cooling in any way?

 

As long as you have a good static pressure fan it should be fine working in pull rather than push with the correct wiring connector, but not sure why you'd want that exactly.

 

Of course be careful when opening PSU's like the usually unplug, let it drain and sit for atleast an hour before opening, and don't touch any contacts on the capacitors especially the large one.
