I prefer Asus, but gigabyte is fine.

I'm a big time ASUS boy, for me no other motherboard have ever compared. I did run Gigabyte for a solid 2 years during my X79 era though, as the Gigabyte X79-UP4 was about the only monochrome X79 motherboard on the market. It was fine. The experience wasn't as smooth as with my ASUS boards, but it was fine. No significant problems.
