Hey everyone

Im planing to buy a new graphics card (MSI gtx 970 oc 4gd5t) and I have some questions about it.

Does it fit in a Bitfenix Comrade case (I think it should since card is 256mm and the case is 300...or is it  )?
Any experiences with coil whine?
Is the card loud?
Is it "on-par" with other 970 gtxs (I heard that it is an entry lvl card, but can still perform on the same lvl w/o overclocking) ?
I gave it an edge over EVGA acx gtx970 2.0 (so-called problems with "below average" coolers), Gigabyte (the card are a bit 2 long) and Asus (these are kind of expensive in my country)

Appreciate all the help :)

You can make the card more quiet with the following software I think. The rest i dont know ^-^

Current Build Logs : ~ "The Future is Back" ~ "NES, The Little Beast" ~

z170l || i5-6600k || Noctua something cooler || 2x16gb ddr4 || msi 1050ti superlowprofile || hdplex 260w psu

1 Yes it will fit in the case.

2 Coil whine can happend to any card so there are no answer to this other then maybe but you should be fine.

3 No the card is very quiet you can even set profile for the fan to not turn on until a certain temp is hit

4 The card is good without overclocking its a great card don't worry.

The MSI GTX 970 OC (not to be confused with the Twin Frozr V) is a decent GTX 970, but I'd suggest something a little better like the ACX model or Strix, or any other non-reference card given it doesn't cost much more.

The ACX cooler is fine now and it always was fine. One of the heatpipes didn't completely pass over the core, but it made the cooler no worse than it was. It will fit in the Comrade, though it may be susceptable to coil whine.

You're mistaking it for being the Twin Frozr I think.

This is the card he is talking about

Righttttt forgot about that one. I think most of the thing i said about the gaming msi one can still be applied to this one though. But i would agree with getting the evga 970 over this though.

I have a EVGA GTX 970 FTW edition. It works amazing. Haven't had a single issue. With my Corsair Air 540 it runs under 30 degrees celsius if not under load and about 65 degrees celsius on load. This model has a core clock 1216 MHz VS your MSI at 1102 MHz. Also EVGA has a way longer warranty so if you're not happy just swap it.

CPU: Intel i7-4790K @ 4.7GHz --- RAM: Lenovo 1600MHz 16GB --- MOBO: Gigabyte Z97-G7 --- GPU: EVGA GTX 970 FTW ACX 2.0+--- PSU: Corsair CX600 --- Case: Corsair Air 540 --- Cooler: NZXT Kraken X61 --- OS: Windows 8.1 --- Monitor: 24" AOC G2460P + Dell 19" --- Mouse: Logitech MX Perfromance --- Keyboard: Corsair K70 (Cherry MX Brown) --- Audio: Sennheiser HD558

Don't buy a GTX 980, it's overpriced! Buy 2 GTX 970s or 2 R9 290s intstead (the R9 290s would even be cheaper)
