Motherboard/GPU video output port questions.

Joelmiester

So if a computer has a motherboard with an HDMI port, but also has a GPU with a different video out, say, a micro HDMI, could I plug and HDMI into the motherboard port, or will it effect my video quality?

You have to plug it directly into the port on the graphics card in order to get the effects of your graphics card.

The IO on the motherboard is for the mobo only. So the HDMI or w.e other video output on the mobo is for the integrated graphics that some CPUs come with. Obviously it won;t be anywhere close to the actual GPU. So I recommend you go buy an adapter otherwise your GPU will be a pretty paperweight
