Need opinions on this gaming build

ivaioi
New to all of this, but based on some research this is what I've come up with for a gaming build. Going to only be doing mild overclocking. Any suggestions? Critiques are greatly appreciated.

Really trying to get it down to 1,500$ though, already have a keyboard and mouse and I get the OS (Windows 8.1) for free from my university.

Intend on using only 1 monitor

$ amounts are in USD

If it's for gaming you should just get a 4690K and save yourself $100. Could get a 980 with the money saved instead. Besides that it looks pretty good.

Edit: Did it here for you

Someone told me not to get the 970 because of the 3.5 instead of 4 gb vram issue

That shouldn't be an issue at 1080p.
