Get the Maximus if you care about how the motherboard looks. The normal Asus boards look horrible(unless you like gold). The Expert actually has more features than the Hero, but it is also more expensive. The Hero has better audio than the Expert.

EXPERT is better than HERO but hero has better on-board audio (not that much diffrence) and will loke nicer (since theres not too many people have a pc thats gold and black themed i assume yours is not to)

He is the hero this forum deserves but not the one it needs right now.So we'll hunt him because he can take it because he is not our hero he is a silent guardian

@fishymamba & @I'm Batman just one last question.. which one shall I get? ASUS SABERTOOTH Z87 or ASUS MAXIMUS VI HERO or GIGABYTE Z87X-UD3H? Please I need the best one! I need the one with the best features over the three..

here is a pro tip #buy the most expensive one ;p                                                                                                                                (but seriosly dont thats a joke if it wasnt  a joke ,everyone would had macbook's and macintosh's :p)

those 3 Mobo's are really nice and their features are around the same go for the one that will look best in your system

also ASUS has Aİ SUİTE software which is epic i use it alot i would ok picked HERO or  Sabertooth check their reviews and fueatures pick the best for your self ;)

Sabertooth, but the gigabyte is wayyy cheaper than the Asus boards.

I would personally get the Gigabyte GA-Z87X-UD5H, it is in the same price range as the Asus boards: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128593

@I'm Batman your tip is the best, I'm thinking of going with the SABERTOOTH, is it better than the maximus vi hero?

they are both for gaming and pretty much same HERO has better audio Sabertooth has more life span etc... you need to look them up from asus's website or any website and find the one that suits your needs most. i would of picked Sabertooth cause its sexier has the more features that i want . (my current Mobo is similar to Sabertooth and i dont regret a single dolar i spent on that Mobo its high quality and looks sexy in my RİG)

You cant really say one is 'better' than the other they are two different lines. The sabertooth is a 'TUF' series which utilizes military grade components and comes with a 5year warranty - it's mainly buildt for reliability and monitoring and comes with optional thermal sensors (for cooling enthusiasts). The Maximus Hero is a 'ROG' series board which is made for Overclocking and also has a dedicated hq-sound solution onboard. The basic features are the same on both boards its the specialisation that sets them apart.

If you were to buy a Gaming/editing PC, which mobo would you get? Also, what is the benefit of the dedicated sound onboard? Will it benefit me if I will get a headset with a built-in soundcard?

that means you wont benefit from the on-board sound go for the Sabertooth one. 90%of the people who buy ROG boards buy them for their sound quality if you are not gonna benefit from it thats money wasted.

If you get a headset that connects to pc with usb and has a buildt in soundcard then - no the better onboard sound isn't gonna make a difference.

I personally like the sabertooth better but in reality you're probably not gonna notice any big difference between using one or the other.

Here are two videos with JJ from Asus explaining all about both series:

hope this helps to decide

You will be fine with any of them, just get the one you can afford and like the looks of most, they will all suit your needs. Also for the future, its hard to go wrong with modern day Asus products, they are a great company.
